Feels great & works extra muscles By Racewalker from Oregon on 09/16/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding, Versatile Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these shoes daily, walking 4-6 miles for exercise, and general walking throughout the day. Shoes are extremely comfortable and force me to work extra muscles (slightly), but there is one spot on my right ankle bone that rubs. I have to wear thicker socks (perhaps its just this one pair, because I've never had a problem with this spot in the past). I am going to buy another pair, because I am so happy with them in all other ways. I may try another style of MBT. Definitely worth the money!!
By Nuts for Nursing from Richmond, VA on 09/04/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good for work or play, Good Padding, Versatile Cons: Expensive but worth it Best Uses: All day standingwalking, Endurance Training, Pavement, Strength Training, Trails, Wet Conditions, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes on recommendation from a relative who is a nurse like I am. They are FABULOUS for all day standing and walking, plus I enjoy wearing them in my free time to walk or work out -- so I am now buying my 2nd pair. One benefit is I usually had to buy arch supports for my high arch for other shoes; no more with these! They help correct my posture and I don't need them at ALL in these shoes.
One tip: if you vascillate between two shoe sizes, go with the larger one. Otherwise, they fit true to size and width.
Two drawbacks: the shoes are crazy expensive ($250 at most places, so get them on sale when possible), and since I wear them a lot the tread is worn out and I don't know if getting a $5 re-sole repair will somehow damage the underlying shoe system. No one at MBT customer service ever replied to my query!
Overall: GREAT shoes when you can get them for $150 or less, and great styles, too!
These shoes make me walk!! By Techy Trekker from Around Philly on 09/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding Best Uses: Pavement, Shopping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I read to order MBT 1/2 size up, so I am about a 9.5, but lean toward a 10, so I got the 10, and they are perfect. When I tell you, these shoes make me want to walk, I mean it!!
There is supposed to be an adjustment to walking in them, but I found they make walking easy, it is the standing still that is more difficult!
If/when these wear out, I will get another pair.
