The only thing we don;t like about it is that being a male dog, he peed on the straps that go under his belly. But we washed it off and hung it to dry and it seems OK. We will likely use it on hikes, etc so he can carry his own food -

We tried two different manufacturers and Mountainsmith was the BEST. It rides up high enough not to interfere with leg movement and is padded and adjusts for a great fit. We hiked many miles in the wilderness and had no problems. Our 40 pound border collie acted like it wasn't even there. Wish I could say the same for the "other" brand. I am now looking for a second Mountainsmith pack.
