By an old guy from Northern Virginia on 03/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Poor Fit, Poor Material or Construction Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The fit is OK -- nothing outstanding -- the waist is a little large and the length is a little long for me -- nothing I cannot not deal with. They dry, after washing, some more wrinkled than I expected. Also the belt that comes with the pants is so useless that I replaced it almost immediately. Recommended with reservations.
Did not like the low waisteline. By Bullethead from Birmingham, AL on 03/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The waistline rides way too low and makes the pants feel cheap. Feels like a Bargain Store Brand in that regard. I expected more from Columbia sportswear, and must admit that this purchase is the only purchase I was disapointed in.
Not exactly what I expected !! By Bullethead from Birmingham, AL on 03/06/2009 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall, they would be considered a very good pair of pants for the avid outdoor enthusiast or week-end traveller. But, the only flaw I personally found frustating is that because the waist rides a little lower than normal,(especially for Columbia Brand pants), They have the feel of "Discount Store" brand pants, not the mid price range they were proposed to be in the ad or that you expect from Columbia brand sportswear. Hey, maybe, it's just me...but I would never knowlingly buy a pair of pants that tend to ride LOW at the waist line. To me it's an important thing.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to eliminate the exuse for a belt they throw in and apply it to the price...Really...who uses those disposable belts that come with a decent pair of pants??
