Easy To Carry, Fits a need, Good Capacity, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Water resistant
Cons:
Not perfect
Best Uses:
Backpacking, Paddling, Rainy trail running
Describe Yourself:
Advanced
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have a need to carry a firearm at times in the areas I run and work during the rain. Although this bag is clearly not designed to carry a firearm, it serves in a pinch to help protect the firearm and the ammunition from excessive moisture. It would not be good to use while swimming!

This hip bag is quite roomy and although well-made, the bag is more water resistant than actually being "waterproof". If I were transporting delicate camera / electronic equipment in the bag, I'd still wrap those devices in plastic. The bag has adjustable straps to contour the shape of the bag to the size of the load that you're transporting.

The waist pack is everything it claimed to be. It's not meant for submersion but for splashing, it's great. I saw this priced at $69.00 at other vendors but leave it to Sierra Trading to price it at [$] - great job

Needed a waterproof, easy to carry, backcountry first aid kit. This bag fit the bill exactly! Well made, sturdy and big enough for an extended trip. No brainer at the price!

this "dry pack" was great till it killed my husband's camera while he was kayaking with it. It didnt even get submerged in water, just a little splashed

I foolishly used this hipsack on a kayaking trip down the Verde river. It leaked constantly. Once I had to jump into the water waist-deep to help another boater. Despite it being zipped as tightly as possible, it filled with water FAST, weighing me down and restricting my movement. Thank the gods my GPS is waterproof or it would have died. Don't use this on floaty trips unless you're assured you'll stay topside; don't expect it to keep things dry beyond being lightly splashed. It's far from "waterproof," and there's no way to make it so. Use a roll-top for valuables. This two-zipper system is a bad idea; it doesn't even stop heavy splashes from entering. What I'd love to see is a roll-top hipsack of comparable size. THAT would be useful.

A good fanny pack for wet activity, where splash is expected. Well made. Stiff material, of course due to design requirements.
Not made to be submerged.
