    I've used this bag for backpacking trips and for weeklong canoe trips in the Boundary Waters. Throw a rock in the pouch that's used to store the attached rope and toss it up around a tree branch to hoist up the bag well out of the reach of animals.

    The quality of this thing seems pretty good; tough material, nice construction. When not being used as a bear bag, I think it will also be very handy as a dry bag. Multi-purpose. Gotta' love it!

    I have spent countless miles and days in the backcountry and have had the opportunity to use a variety of products(some good, some not so good). This food storage system is versatile and stands up to a beating. It stays water tight and packs very well for long backpacking trips or canoe trips. I would recommend a smaller size for shoter trips.
