The fabric is a very nice quality smooth cotton. They are well-made and a wonderful weight for summer when you still want to have a light sock layer. I wear 8.5 shoes usually and I find the one size fit to be just fine. I haven't washed them yet, though, so I don't know if the cotton will shrink.
