Pantherella All-Over Diamond Dress Socks - Merino Wool Blend (For Men)

I bought the large size. My husband has long narrow feet, size 13-14. In his words, "These are the nicest socks I have ever had."

These are thin (but not too thin) mens dress socks of very high quality. The diamonds that appeared (at least to me) to be very white in the online picture of the navy socks appear in person to be a very light blue, which to my eye is quite a bit more attractive. I'm an engineer so I buy these more for quality than fashion - so the less than ideal online pic didn't put me off (at least not at the incredible bargain price). I was pleasantly surprised when I received them to see that the light blue diamonds really looked quite nice. Now I wish I'd bought more than two pair...

The good looks of these socks were unfortunately outweighed by the extremely thin fabric. If you need really thin, quality socks to fit into your dress shoes, these would be terrific. I never wear shoes that tight, because comfort is too important to me even in dressy situations, so I prefer more substantial socks for my dress shoes. I am going to return these in favor of another purchase. For me if these had been thicker they would have been perfect.

Contrary to popular thought, merino wool socks are not just for winter. These actually provide more benefit for summer in preventing perspiration build-up for all-day comfort (and No over-heating!). Also, I happened to step in a puddle of water in a New York winter and was fearing a "frozen foot"; I went inside a bar and the sock dried on its own within an hour. --I wear these on my all-nights-out (12 hours of much walking) in Asia and they're like stepping on clouds. Also, if you happen to wear a spot thin of the material (i.e.: achilles area), the nylon "frame" will prevent the "ever-expanding" hole (unlike other brands of merino socks that I've tried). I still have pairs that I've owned for 10 years. These are only dress socks I wear now - well worth the money. Tip for washing: machine wash is fine (gentle cyle better, but they can handle regular cycle), though ~Drip-Dry~ these! Not tumble dry: they'll maintain their size and shape better and they dry overnight anyway.

Very attractive. Should last a long time.
