5.0 out of 5 stars. fun shoes!

i already have a pair of slipper-shoes with heavier-duty soles that i can wear outside in bad weather. but these chukkas are best for dry, cool days around town, and not for very cold wet days. all that being said, they are surprisingly warm for their very light weight. the bottoms and the fleece sides are warm; the only area that feels cold is around the lacing area. i mainly wear the booties around our house, which doeesn't have much heating and stays around 56-58 deg. many days. they aren't as easy to slip on and off as the mules i keep by the bed but they are much more secure and keep the backs of my ankles warmer (and they're way cuter!) the pseudo-lacing system is brilliant! i'm super lazy and refuse to wear anything i have to lace up :) the "laces" on these stretch to fit so all you need to do is pull the back loop up and voila! they are of course majorly comfy, the purple color is amazing and the shoes are fun with skirts, pants or leggings. i didn't actually need another pair of ankle boots but couldn't resist when i saw the great price here, and i know patagonia makes fantastic products!

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Too die for cute!

Love the cuteness (red plaid), super comfy & my prescription orthotics fit inside great - but the bottoms are extremely flat - no padding or comfort at all. Will need to add some sort of footbed to increase the comfort on the front half of the shoe. I have wide feet & bunions - in that respect they are great - no rubbing or tightness.. Just wish the bottom had more 'thickness/padding'.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Cute, Run Small

These slippers are really cute. The lacing is actually 1/4-inch white elastic, and it's too tight in the shoes, so I pulled it out of the top two eyelets and retied it to make them easier to put on and take off. They also run a bit small imo, and I hope they will stretch out over time. They are completely made of synthetics, with rubber-like soles, so not sure how ling they'll hold up, but they are fun to wear around the house for their quirky style.

These booties are super comfy and can be worn with elastic style lace undone for a more casual, urban look or tied, for a somewhat sleeker look. They are very lightweight, but do have a little insole and a bit of traction. Only downside I've found is that they seem to get dirty easily. They can be washed somewhat with a damp cloth, but they lost their "new" look pretty quick. If you are careful to not wear in dusty or muddy areas, they'd be fine.
