Material functions well, but the fit and finish on the cuff, hem, neck aren't like the old Patagonia lines. Smartwool and Helly Hansen have better garments now

Things that are great about it

Everything about this shirt is great, except for the fact that the arms are too baggy. I expected the Capilene 4 to fit similarly to the Capilene 1, which I own several of. The fit is not the same at all. I spoke to someone at Patagonia about this, and he told me that the Capilene 4 is cut looser so that you can wear stuff underneath it. This doesn't make any sense at all, in my opinion, given that they advertise the Capilene 4 as a BASE LAYER. You don't wear things underneath a base layer--the base layer, by definition, is the thing you're supposed to wear underneath other articles of clothing. So either they need to recut the Capilene 4 so that it truly is a base layer, or they need to change the way they describe it.
