Great hiking shoe

I've owned a pair of these shoes for a couple of years now. I replaced a pair of 20 year old Vasque hiking books for these. I was looking for a low cut hiker that could handle the stresses of a bull backpacking boot. I also needed a full leather shoe that could stand up under wet conditions. So far, these have fit the bill pretty good. They have a stiffer sole than most other low cut hikers. The Goretex liners keep your feet mostly dry. I'm probably going to have to invest in some gaiters though. Comfort is amazing. some days i wear these to the office. They look great. The only complaint I have is that these shoes tend to lose traction on roots and rocks. They grip great on muddy ground but the stiff sole and lug pattern keep these from giving you a good grip on slippery and wet surfaces where a softer sole really helps. Its a trade off for the comfort you get with the stiffer sole. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase.
