Great for casual hiking

These have been great hike/walk shoes with my family. We try to do a couple mile hike or walk each weekend with decent weather and these have been perfect shoes. They provide traction and protection without feeling heavy. With a pair of good socks my feet stay warm on cold damp days.

great shoes for the price

Wore these shoes out of the box on a 5 mile hike on a narrow dirt trail, sometimes uneven surface. It was a lot more comfortable than my hiking boots! They are very light and nimble. The sole is not bulky or over-engineered like many athletic shoes today. Would like a little more arch support but that can be fixed. I recommend these shoes for a narrow to medium foot. After a week of wear, even my bunions are comfortable - my new favorites!

Haven't taken them on a trail yet but they are super comfortable with good arch support. Good looking, too. You just can't go wrong with Patagonia, especially at this price!

These are the best hiking shoes I've ever had. I bought them for a trip to AK, and wore them touring the towns as well as for hiking, and did not break them in beforehand. I hiked the equivalent of 3 hours on the stairmaster, over terrain that shouldn't even be considered a trail, with a stretched achilles tendon in these shoes - they exceeded my expectations! My legs hated me, but my feet felt great!

I purchased the product for my daily walks. They are not as flexible as a tennis shoe, but that is not what they are, so are well suited to their description. They are very nice looking, so I have been wearing them for my errands in town each day.

Excellent light, walking shoe

Once I got the right size (true to size), I loved the shoe, very comfy right out of the box. However, it was a bit hot and not very breathable (for summer conditions anyway) I'm looking forward to testing it out in the fall and spring!

I haven't had a chance to wear this shoe on the trail much. However, after initially getting it a size big reading other recommendations (I exchanged for my true size) it has worked out pretty well. Very comfortable to just put on and walk around in.
