I bought these to replace my old worn out hiking boots for an upcoming back packing trip. Looking at these on STP I thought they would be heavier then they are, but I was wrong. The boots are incredibly light weight for the support they offer and not clunky. I have been wearing them around just t...

I know the description says that these boots are suited to warm, wet weather; but I've been wearing these for the last two weeks in subzero temperatures in the snow, and couldn't be happier. I'm not going on long hikes or anything, but for casual, everyday use, these boots really perform well. They are comfortable out of the box, and provide a lot of support. They are high enough to keep the snow out, but not restrict enough at the ankle that wearing them all day is a problem. I'm not sure if its the rubber compound or the design of the sole, but traction on ice and snow is excellent. I may have to get another pair of these for summer months! The only gripe I might have is that I have to tighten the laces occasionally through the day. Other than that, I really like these boots.

I've worn these boots for 8 months, and they have been great for me. In the spring with the grass is wet and the mud on the trail can leave me with wet feet, these have kept me dry. On a ski trip where I was hiking in with skis on my back, I walked through quite a bit of water and stayed dry. I'm a Gore-Tex Mountain tech and received these boots as part of that program for testing. I have only tested them on relatively smooth surfaces not the rough conditions that some others have. However, having kids in soccer in the wet Oregon spring, these boots have been very dry and very comfortable tromping over wet fields. I would recommend these for those types of conditions.
