I read I should order a size up, I did not. The shoe was roomy and could tighten it up with the laces. This is possibly the best, most comfortable hiking/walking/running shoe I have ever had. I ordered replacement insoles by Ugh, for warmth, perfect. And highly cushioned insoles for summer, also perfect. Pretty True to size. Lightweight.

I wanted a pair of leather hiking boots but didn't want something too heavy for the summer. These mid hiking boots are perfect. They're light, comfortable and have a great tread for hiking on uneven terrain. I also love how they look. I haven't had a chance to test out how waterproof they are yet. Unlike some people who said they ran small, they seem true to size to me.

I wear a 7.5. These were sized way too small to consider keeping but the construction of the boot seems very good. Had they fit they would have been perfect for my job.

If you want a hiker that feels like a beefed up athletic shoe this is it. But if you hike during summer or hot climates this is super HOT. The inner lining surrounds your foot. I felt it swallows your feet in a whole lot of cushion and material. You will not have some kind of circulation available around your foot. Just trying them around the house was uncomfortable because I became immediately hot in the feet. Imagine hiking! However if you hike in snow or real cold weather you might enjoy the hiker. It is smaller than normal size so get one half larger or more. I do not feel you could hike with over a 35 pound load. The boot does not have a stiff enough shank or support for heavy loads. But if you have 20 pounds or less it might feel fine. The boot is comfortable but it is a beefed up tennis shoe, not a real hiker made for extended hiking with heavy loads.

These boots are so light and comfortable. I would agree with the recommendations for going up a half size. I like the fact that the insoles are removable so that you have the option of putting in your own.
