I love them and they are comfortable. They have a wide toe area instead of tapering which I find very comfortable. I bought them because I have never had any issue with Patagonia gear, but these were stiff and uncomfortable out of the box. It feels like wearing two ill-fitting shoes at the same time. The thin leather trim at the top of the shoes dug into my leg, and the laces were already frayed.
Too bad, they are nice looking shoes that otherwise seem well made.
    • Cons: Poor Fit, Too Stiff, Uncomfortable

Patagonia has good quality mdse and finished nicely as well. They are sometimes a bit pricey, but you pay for quality. My daughter bought a pair in Pittsburgh, Pa 7 yrs.ago. Now she lives in Portland, Ore. When I went to visit I saw them and had to have them and she wears hers alot and they have held up great! They look good for 7 years old! No tears or rips at all just needs new laces is all.

I've had these for about a year and wear them a few times a month. They've held up very well. Getting the removable sole on and off is a bit challenging, but on the upside it remains securely attached when you're wearing it. I agree with the other reviewer about ankle support - it's great and helps with a problem I didn't quite realize I had. I wouldn't recommend these shoes for heavy rain; water can get in between the sole and the removable sole. They're very good for damp, drizzly days, and were particularly useful a few weeks ago when I helped friends clean out their flooded out basement - I could easily pop off the soles to go into the clean part of the house without having to unlace my shoes.
