Patagonia Snow Drifter 7 Boots - Waterproof (For Men)

Closeouts. Snow drifts and ferocious winter weather are just what Patagonia's Snow Drifter 7 boots were designed to face. Under the burly nubuck upper is a waterproof breathable membrane and a collection of insulating materials to secure your feet in a dry, exceptionally warm environment.

Very nice boot. Not just for winter. I purchased this boot for 3-season backpacking. Combination leather and nylon uppers are just not very waterproof even with a Gore-Tex membrane. That's why I look for an all leather boot. These boots have very fews seams (good) and are pretty lightweight for an all leather boot. I can protect my all leather boots with Sno-Seal or Biwell boot grease and make them very water resistant. Again, something I cannot do with a leather/synthetic upper.

This boot is good. It's kept my feet dry and warm. It has very good traction.
And the boot cleans very easily.

I have a couple other pairs of Patagonia shoes and boots (Drifter A/C, Ranger GTX, etc.) and these are the winter equivalent. Sizing is just a tick bigger than the others, so you can order your normal size and accommodate thicker socks, which is good. The lining makes them very good as casual outdoor winter boots, but not for seriously cold weather (I live in Northern MN, so they'd be fine for the coldest in most places), and they're a little too warm for all day indoor wear, at least for me. The soles are good when it's cold and icy, but they retain a lot of snow when heading indoors. The lacing system is pretty good, but the relatively thin laces and large rings make for a lot of re-lacing, but that would just be a matter of getting some thicker laces (60-65").
