Great all-around pants! Enough pockets for all my "stuff"- bandana, spare headlamp for the car, cell phone, that screwdriver I thought I'd lost while working on the car, work gloves, a couple of mint candies..., spare change, my rolled-up baseball hat, a soda can/bottle...etc. My wife says they're nice enough to wear out, providing I don't get grease or paint all over them. The fabric is heavy duty, but soft, and they wash well! Pants just don't get any better than this!

These pants seem a little tighter than and a longer than wranger jeans the same size. I love the quality. There are buttons everywhere including on the fly, which surprised me but doesn't upset me. I haven't washed them yet so I wait to see how that effects the size. They also seem more oriented towards looking good than towards stuffing the pockets with equipment, they don't have extra bulky cargo pockets. But, I would still use them in the outdoors.

I work outdoors for a wilderness therapy program... backpacking in the high desert of SW UT and NV. I bought these pants for the long, cold winter shifts. I was nervous about wearing cotton out there, but these pants work well in the dry environment. I wore them all week. they are warm, and comfortable in temps from 20 to 75 (deg.F - on their own, without long underwear). They didn't chafe, were comfortable while hiking w/ a heavy pack, and the dark sage color stayed looking new and clean even at the end of the week when I had to go meet and greet some of my clients' parents. The pockts are big and swallow all the gear I like to keep on my person while out there. My only gripe, and the only thing keeping these from getting 5 stars, is that the front/forward edge of the cargo pockets are tacked down instead of the rear edge. This looked like losing some smaller objects (small trash, pens, chapstick) out of my pockets when I was sitting on the ground with my knees up. Buttoning down the flap helps with this, and probably won't be a problem for anyone who wears these while standing or sitting in a regular-height chair. I may bust out the sewing kit and make this little custom fix on my own pair. Quality Patagonia construction.

My husband looked long and hard for good quality cotton-or mostly cotton travel pants with zippers in the pockets. He hoped for a casual, "normal-looking" pair. These will do, but they have no cotton, and he does not like the way they feel. I'd recomend them only in a pinch as they will serve for him.
