“I was nervous about buying this jacket because it is not primaloft which I think is the best insulator on the market. However the patagonia representatives put me at ease when they wrote the following email to me. The Winter Sun Jacket that they are selling is from Fall 2008, and the insulation that was used is Climashield. Although not quite as warm, or as light, as the PrimaLoft, it is still a warm jacket. I can't tell you that it will be warm enough for you because everyone handles the cold differently, but for me it would be plenty warm enough for walking the dog, and if you need a bit more warmth then you can add a warmer layer, especially for $.
