    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I bought a size large. It was too big for my 5'4" frame. Not sure if a medium would have worked. It was too long and just a bit too much fabric oveerall. Quality seemed good although the two-tone color was a bit loud (blue). I returned it because i would not have enjoyed wearing it.

    I was very impressed. It is difficult to shop online. I've read so much about primaloft and how great it is I was so nervous about buying something that wasn't primaloft. But wow this is great. It is so soft and even the pockets are insulated. I've never owned a jacket so snuggly and warm. I also was uncertain about the color but it looks better on a person than in the picture online. I was also nervous about the fit I'm a size fourteen really so mostly can't fit size large in patagonia. Been working out so I'm shrinking but I didn't think it would fit but it did.

    I was nervous about buying this jacket because it is not primaloft which I think is the best insulator on the market. However the patagonia representatives put me at ease when they wrote the following email to me. The Winter Sun Jacket that they are selling is from Fall 2008, and the insulation that was used is Climashield. Although not quite as warm, or as light, as the PrimaLoft, it is still a warm jacket. I can't tell you that it will be warm enough for you because everyone handles the cold differently, but for me it would be plenty warm enough for walking the dog, and if you need a bit more warmth then you can add a warmer layer, especially for $.     This is a wonderful coat - goodlooking and toasty! It is so comfortable, too. I've worn it out in the early morning when it's around 30 degrees, and I've been nice and warm. I'm 5'8" and 150 lbs - the Medium fits me well (I have room to wear sweaters underneath). My only dislike is that the front bottom of the coat isn't as formfitting as I would like - you can tighten the ropething, but it puckers a bit then. But I really do love this coat!
