I have this jacket in the women's version and couldn't be happier. It's so lightweight yet surprisingly warm. I've worn it in pretty brutal conditions skiing in CO and it kept me warm and dry. Based on that, we got this jkt for my father for Christmas and he was more than happy. Can't beat the price --[$]

I wear a 36/37 sleeve in dress shirts and often have difficulty buying jackets and coats that have long enough sleeves. This jacket is perfect - fits like several XL tall clothes that I have purchased. Very warm for the weight.

This is a great jacket for around town. I have only had the jacket for a short time but everything I have gotten from Patagonia has been really durable and this looks to be the same but only time will tell. The hand warmer pockets are really nice (micro-fleese lined) and there are other pockets so you don't need the hand warmer pockets for anything else than warming your hands. The design of the coat is well thought out and versatile it would work for casual or work.

I have just retired an extremely durable marmot soft shell and am currently in Afghanistan with 20th Special Forces Group. As all patagonia jackets have been to me, this is very comfortable, and soft. Although it's still too hot here currently, I'm not planning on taking this out on missions to see what kind of beating it will take, ha not sure if it's because it's too comfortable or just that it doesn't feel up to the challenge. This one is built for comfort, not the elements.

Great Fall, Winter and Spring coat. Even works for cool Summer nights on the Lake Michigan.
