As the description suggestion this is a basic model and perfect for those who prefer not to be lugging a ton of paraphernalia to the stream or lake. Well made, durable

Lightest wading boot you'll ever use, spectacular where hiking is substantial. That being said patagonia's "sticky" rubber outsole just isn't nearly as good as the Vibram Idrogrip outsoles that Simms, Korkers, Orvis and Cabelas have in their top of the line boots. Unfortunately the soft, (not so)"sticky" rubber is TERRIBLE at holding studs without some sort of epoxy which would make them permanently studded, offsetting the great benefit of being a hiker. If you don't need a lot of traction and you're gonna be doing a lot of hiking, then these are perfect; otherwise, look elsewhere (these come in felt sole if that agrees with you you're local regs and your needs).

These boots hurt my ankles when walking. They did provide good grip on rocks. They were a little too stiff on top to suit me.
