My daughter also purchased one. I think these blankets are the best you can buy. Thick, soft cotton that is machine washable. I know it will last for years because of the old one I have. I use the blanket year round and it is warm enough for my Minnesota winters. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it requires some special care when you wash it. You must take the blanket out of the dryer when it is still quite damp because the trim on the warp or weft sides of the blanket will shrink if fully dried. You will need to stretch the trim on those 2 sides while the blanket continues to dry hanging up. Other than the special care, the blanket is a dream and the price is unbelievable.

We're both picky and when we aren't looking for the same thing in a shared purchase it gets excruciatingly hard to find something we both like. When this passed the test I immediately bought a second.

It is the softest blanket I've ever seen--like a baby's receiving blanket. From experience, I know that the soft fleece will disappear when it's been washed a number of times. But it's still (the original one) a great, warm blanket. It hasn't developed hard "pills," just a thick and less soft touch. I am still happy with the original blanket, so this blanket is a proven winner and has stood the test of time! AND I am happy to have the new one to cozy up to! Feels like a real luxury!

When we had a recent cold snap, we added a comforter on top, but it quickly was kicked off--the blanket was sufficient. Needs a quilt, coverlet or something on top for a finished look, but it is quite soft, comfortable, and it works! I cannot attest to how it holds up with laundering--time will tell. I like that all the edges are finished off.

But it takes an age to dry...wish I had sunshine and a clothes line. This blanket is the most for the money I have ever seen. I am amazed at the quality. I will enjoy all winter .
