    For the record, I'm a competitive cyclist -- not a runner! I wanted to get something modest that I could wear when I do my occasional run (2x week). I didn't want my cheeks flapping for the world to see. But these seem to be cut for competitive runners who don't mind such things. I'm 5'11", 160 lbs and and ordered a large. I will be sending these back for XL, mostly for more length and room in the rear.

    Clearly these are high quality shorts. The only thing I wish I had known is that they waist band of the shorts really sit on your hips. If you are thick in the hips -- don't buy these shorts!
