Reviewed by MEM from NYC on Sunday, December 15, 2013I ordered this jacket in a bright orange, for extra visibility. It's orange everywhere except the back, which defeats the point. So I'm returning it. I think the convertible feature is pretty cool, but I didn't get to check it out. The weight and warmth seemed good.
Reviewed by trigirl from las vegas on Sunday, December 8, 2013Jacket is tight under the arms it may be becuase of the inner sleeve and not long enough I ordered a medium and I'm 5'6 130 lbs.
Reviewed by Liz from Memphis on Friday, November 1, 2013Fit is perfect for me. And I love the "convertible" feature of being able to zip off the long sleeves and have the short sleeves, not a vest. The pockets in the back are also a nice feature. Looking forward to more chilly rides.
Reviewed by EmBikes from Colorado on Saturday, October 19, 2013This is a good winter piece with a couple flaws. The fabric is great; I love the light fleece lining inside the soft shell. It's also nice to be able to take care of two items in one (jacket and vest).
As others have said, though, PI missed the mark with the sleeves. Inside are short sleeves made of spandex that are much tighter than the long sleeves of the jacket. I also have PI's Elite Barrier Convertible jacket, which is the same principle in a wind breaker (jacket or vest). It converts to a true vest when the long sleeves are zipped off, though, rather than having short sleeves inside. The Thermal Jacket should have used the same design. For the STP price, it's worth taking to the tailor to cut the inner sleeves back to the shoulder.
I'd also say this is a bit short in the torso, although not enough to justify returning it. The tapering for the waist is slightly higher than my waist and for more warmth having it fall an inch or so lower on the hips would be preferable.
Reviewed by Sunshine in Colorado from colorado on Thursday, May 30, 2013I assumed the back would also be "full" orange - it's not - mostly black - i purchased it to be seen
