I am an avid winter cyclist, and have always hated the first freezing 10-15 min of the ride. This jacket is surprisingly windproof, and a huge improvement over my technical fabric windproof shells that I've always worn over a couple layers of warm cycling jerseys. I stay comfortable temp-wise throughout the ride, and I'm not (noticably)wet at the end. That said, the inside of the jacket will have moisture at the end of the ride (I ride hard enough to sweat), but this is less than any of my eVent, Gortex, or precip shells. I am 5'11" 153lb with long arms and the large fits perfectly, even arm length!

This is good for cool weather cycling - I can unzip it easily for going uphill and then zip it for a long fast downhill. Good wind protection. Haven't tried it in wet weather. Nice fit. I don't like the dirty pink color but that's what they had in my size

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
