Pearl Izumi Insula Tour Cycling Jacket - Insulated (For Men)

I haven't had a chance to road test yet.

I figured that quality control of a Japanese brand garment made in China would be high and I was right. The metal zippers are strong (both for the sleeve cuffs and body) and the construction is good (no loose strings). As in the picture, the shoulders, front of the body, and front sleeves are covered in a wind-proof material (layered over low-bulk polyester and fleece). What you can't see is the quilt pattern comes from tiny reflective discs set into the material. The back and rest of the sleeves are made of a stretchy fleece (smooth on the outside, fleeced on the inside) making them breathable. This jacket does not constrict even though I have a 45 inch chest. I used it once and it is pretty warm enough for the San Francisco Bay area. Will submit an additional report during winter. By the way, my jacket's blue color is very visible out on the trail.

I wear these tights to cycle when the weather is cold or cooler than fall. They are warm and confortable.

Good jacket to wear over base layer. Good for temps above 40 F, although have not experienced sub 40 degree weather yet here in Silicon Valley. Wish Pearl Izumi put more colorful reflective swatches of fabric on this jacket, as you would not be wearing another item of clothing over this.
