Quality producty, well-priced, but very poor packaging - shorts had almost fallen out of a large hole in the envelope. Situation saved by use of duct tape by delivery guy!

Only wore once for 5 mile run, but inner brief fits well and provides good support and don't appear they will chaff on longer runs. Inner waist band smooth and very comfortable, thigh length not too short.

I have the newer model of this short which I love. These should be good but the leg opening is too tight and the compression short ride down during running. Maybe good for short run or other sport

Not sure how to rate these shorts since I never got to wear them. If you have skinnier quads you'll probably love them as the outer fabric and design is great. Problem for me is that the inner lining is way too tight around the leg so I had to send them back. I could size up to an XL as another reviewer suggested but I think the shorts would then be too baggy.

Bought these a year ago at a big retailer at end of the season. Instantly became my husband's favorite running shorts for distances (8 miles to marathons). Stumbled upon them at STP and have ordered 4 more pairs. They wash well and hold up so much more nicely than similar shorts from LuluLemon. I have purchased some Pearl Izumi for myself and have had a similar experience with comfort and easy care.

So good I ordered 2 more pairs. They are long enough, not like some running shorts. I would recommend them

I am normally large, sometimes XL, depending on manufacturer. Previously I have used PI in large and that have worked fine, hence I ordered these in large. The inner brief is extremely small, feels less than medium, and after two washings feels uncomfortably tight. The outer shorts part on the other hand is huge and baggy, looks like larger than XL. Very unusual of PI, their stuff is gear, but my personal feeling is that they missed the mark on this product. Order one size up.

Normally I wear a Large in PI, but based on reviews on Amazon I bought these in XL & I'm glad I did (FWIW, I'm Waist ~35", ~190 lbs). Pearl missed the mark when they matched the interior compression brief to the shorts- in an XL, the briefs fit my thighs OK but the shorts were on the baggy side since I had sized up. Oddly, the boxer brief was not especially tight in the crotch region, so don't expect a ton of support there. I'm pretty sure a Large would've been uncomfortably tight in the thigh area.
Construction is typical PI high quality & the zippered back pocket is actually fairly big. Overall, nice shorts which leave you looking a bit like an NBA player, with long baggy shorts. Not worth returning, but I would not buy again.

Everything seems great about these shorts, except one critical flaw. The interior boxer brief is much too tight around my quads when the waist is clearly loose, so it is not a matter of getting the next size bigger. I'm almost 50 and not rail thin in the waist, thus this sizing issue does not seem to fit the athletic cut, but rather overweight people with a big middle. I have many other companies 2:1 shorts and they all fit fine.
