Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Thermal Shorts - MicroSensor® (For Women)

These shorts are like a good looking pair of high heeled shoes you see in the window display of a store, you know the ones. They catch your eye everytime, make you stop and look with longing, you even plan the outfit you'd wear with them. One day you decide you have to try them on, they are expensive, but they are calling your name! Once on, you know the awful truth, they pinch your toes and are way too high a heel for your foot, still you can't shake the want. Then the inevitable happens, they go on clearance and you throw caution to the wind and buy them. Now they sit in your closet looking great but torturing you each time you attempt to wear them. Well I STILL click on these shorts every time I see them! I know that even when I size down, they are still baggie and odd fitting. The chamois, which is 13mm, creates a horrible stress riser against the soft tissue of my groin area (which by the way means I have spasms in my pelvic floor hours and even days after I wear them)They are a brilliant concept, who doesn't want to option of a thermal short for that perfect match to knee/leg warmers, or extra warmth under tights in extreme cold?! The fabric feels amazing, the fleece inside is excellent for trapping warm air. They just don't work for me, and that makes me very sad. I'm am glad to hear these are working for so many of you out there, if you have any issues with pain in your saddle area during or after riding these could be adding to your problem. While they cushion well down the middle, the edges of the chamois comes in narrow enough down the middle to exaggerate the hard outline of your saddle where your pevlis meets your leg. Lots of soft tissue...you should get the picture by now.

Just a little bulky but great for cold rides. Chamois is one of PI's best.

I love pearl Izumi shorts. They fit me just right compare to others that I have tried.

I absolutely LOVE these shorts! All my shorts are PI. Have tried other brands but none match the quality, AND at this price it is a most wonderful buy! The padding is superior, and I have worn these already after getting them, we have had cold weather here in Maine, already. They would be good with the addition of some leg warmers in lieu of tights. They are a little larger than the usual PI sizes but they will do fine.

These shorts are comfortable and good for long rides. I have long legs so they are a bit short, but I really like them.

These are insulated, so not a good choice for warm weather. Runs larger than all the other Pearl Izumi shorts I have. If the fit better, would add a star. Disappointed.

It's still way too warm to wear these, so I can't offer a complete review. What I can tell you is they run big. Ordered a Med. and they are baggie, in the waist and even through the legs. I am 5'3", 128#, with a 29" waist and 39" hips, so I'm not a twig. These shorts have super soft fabric with a fleece finish on the inside. Wide band at waist and legs for more comfort. The contrast 'color' is actually a refective patch. The stitching is also reflective. I'm hoping I can get a pair in Small, but these went like Hotcakes, so I may have to wish and wonder.

I ride for a long time in the saddle, on bumpy roads. All the shorts I own are PI, which have been the best, nobody comes closer to the comfort level and the quality. These particular shorts have a thermal component which allows me to ride with knee warmers as the weather gets a little chillier, I don't have to put the tights on so soon. Thank you for offering this great product at affordable prices.

Still too warm where I am to know how these perform, price was too good to pass up. These shorts feel amazingly good on. The wide, non-elastic waist and leg bands make them really comfortable. Silky soft against skin, inside and out. The flocked (fleece-like) fabric interior feels warm. The accent color on the front is actually reflective patches for greater visibility. My only complaint, they are a full size too big. I've tried on other P.R.O. shorts from Pearl Izumi and assumed these would be the same, so I ordered a MED. I'm 5'3", 128#, with a 29" waist, so they should have fit fine. They are nice and relaxed around the waist and comfortable around leg opening, but the body of the leg is baggie on me. Either, I need massive steroid thighs, or pray for some one to return their enormous SM's so I can buy them (hint, hint). At least I have a good two months before I will need anything thermal.
