Verified Buyer Reviewed by Zeus Fonsi from Boston on Monday, September 29, 2014Maybe it was my lack of knowledge of such things, but I expected these to be proper cycling pants, and they are not. These are a base layer designed to be used with your existing cycling pants.
Despite the misnomer, they do work great. They keep you warm and they breathe pretty well, so you're not all sweaty because of it. Definitely recommend.
Final note: If you're a short guy, these will be longer than 3/4, but that's the norm with most of these things.
Reviewed by lowbeat from Milwaukee, WI on Friday, January 24, 2014Didn't realize from the description that this was a baselayer. Still, it works well, sizing is good. No complaints.
Reviewed by E-squared from New Mexico on Wednesday, January 15, 2014I was hoping these would be like knicker bike shorts, but they didn't live up to that. I'd consider these as thin as thin long underwear, small/tight for my size, and therefore not very usable unless you want to sausage yourself into them for being only a modicum warmer than you would be without. They are probably good for understanding what pantyhose are like if you cut them off mid calf - but still managed to have them really tight on the calf.
Reviewed by anomad from SLC, UT on Wednesday, January 15, 2014Tighter than pants and looser than tights, too long to be knickers, too short to be pants. Not sure if its underwear or outerwear?
So maybe the ultimate "in between" lower body garment? I've used it as a layer biking and snowshoeing.
I don't particularly like the waistband or I'd rate it higher. Pearl Izumi stuff has never fit me well though.
Reviewed by Ted from Davis, CA on Thursday, January 9, 2014Given the title, I thought these were designed as outerwear and for cycling. However, they are actually a pair of base layer tights designed to go under your other clothing. That may be fine for other sports, but I needed tights to go OVER my bike shorts. While you could use them as outerwear, the design and flapping labels make them look like a base layer. They seemed OK construction, but I returned them because they won't be of use to me.
