The Penguin Footwear story all started back in 1955 when a carefree salesman from Minneapolis named Abbot Pederson bought a stuffed penguin in a New York City gift shop. After taking the bird home with him, Pederson had an idea to create his own company, and the original Penguin brand was born. Although the brand was revamped in the early 2000s, Penguin shoes still retain the superior quality and style that made Penguin sneakers such a success half a century ago. Go with an American original and give Penguin Footwear a try.

The boots are nice-looking, exactly as pictured. The color is identical to the pic. And our very hip kids thought they looked very hipster and cool :) and although they seem well-made, we can't tell you how they hold up yet because my husband hasn't spent any time in them. They were ginormous. We returned immediately for a full size down. He wears a nine normally and his big toe was a full inch back from the toe.
