Warm and well knit, this sweater is a little long in the arms, but otherwise, fine...

Gave this to my wife as a Xmas present. Excellent construction. She was thrilled. It was not difficult to find a good fit even though this is a man's sweater.

Nicely fitted and shaped (seems slimmer than other Peregrine I have bought from STP - not a bad thing) But quality is top of the line, as to be expected.

I bought both colors available (charcoal and ecru) even though one of the pics aren't available. I have to say these are great sweaters. I'm wearing the ecru one right now with some jeans and I've received compliments on the first day. I think the wooden toggle matches more smoothly with the ecru color than the charcoal. They have a good weight and are masculine while still being trim fitting.

You can dress these up or down very easily.

The knit is a little loose so I would recommend wearing the same/similar color shirt underneath the sweater because it will show. With my ecru, I'm wearing an ivory/cream shirt and it flows perfectly.

I own 6 peregrine sweaters because of their quality, and contemporary, but classic appeal.

I got the charcoal version of this sweater and am quite pleased with it overall, as I am with other Peregrine sweaters. The cut is flattering--fairly slim, falls just below my belt line, masculine--and the wool itself is soft, thick, and richly-colored. The wood toggle is not obnoxious as I feared it might be. My only disappointment is that the weave is somewhat (but not extremely) loose, so that you can sometimes see the color of the undershirt in a few places. That's not enough to keep this from being an overall fantastic sweater, though.

Based on the model I decided that this sweater would likely be long enough in the body & arms to suit my 6'3" tall husband, who requires a garment to be at least 27" long in the body to prevent his tops gaping away from the waistband of his pants when he bends over. This sweater does that & is a soft, richly luxurious cable knit of 100% new merino wool besides. I ordered size large which will be big enough to put over a shirt or tee shirt for the more slender body types but is still large enough to fit over a more muscular or stocky build. Those with larger frames or builds would likely be better off buying an XL or XXL size. Regarding the white at the buttonhole, it is as shown but is only the loop to fasten the button with - the background is also charcoal dark wool. I don't find this off putting but some might; I would expect the ecru version of this sweater might be best if one doesn't like the white to show - I have not seen a picture & am presuming that the ecru version won't have a black wool loop to fasten the button with.
