This English vest is simple with no frills - yet well made. Because it it made of a waxed cotton, it's not a vest you'd wear around the house or wear while relaxing in front of a fire. It's simply too stiff and unforgiving. However it's fine for going out for a brisk walk in the countryside on a cool, breezy morning. You will want to stand up straight in this vest. Also, why don't the British catch up to the rest of civilized society and use right handed zippers (for men), leaving left handed zippers for the women?
If you are used to the softness of the typical plush synthetic material we all have been wearing , this vest may not be for you. But if your walk in the woods includes brushing up against occasional brambles, this will suit you just fine.

This was purchased for my husband and unfortunately needed to be returned as it was way too large. This was a medium and could have been a large or even an extra large. I am certain that the small (if available) would also be too large. Otherwise a very nice product!
