The loose weave of sweater made garment almost see-through. Given the looseness of the weave, the sweater did not seem like it would be that warm despite its weight. Returned.

Without a doubt, J.G. Glover makes the best wool sweaters on the market. Warm and fashionable, their sweaters can be worn at almost any indoor or outdoor event. J.G. Glover simply has a great product! I bought another sweater similar to this 4-5 years ago, but do not wear it as often. It is sized "XL", and thought it fits well in the shoulders and across the chest and abdomen, it reaches to almost my knees. It is not sized as "Tall", but it fits our 6'4" son better than his 5'10" dad. So, this time I ordered a size "L", and of course it fits a bit tight across the chest and abdomen, but is a good fit for my height. I will probably send this back to get the "XL" size, and may have to wear the sweater crumpled at my beltline, but that is better for me.

Glover sweaters are consistently well made. This one is no exception. It is my second one and I will probably buy others in different colors or styles. You cannot beat STP's price.

  • Question “What guage is the sweater?”
Asked on 7/30/2010 12:00:00 AM by Dan The Woodmaker from St. Pet Florida
    • Answer I'm not sure of the gauge but the sweater is very light in weight and soft and snuggly to the touch...like that of a soft baby blanket...certainly not the weight of the fisherman's sweater from back in the day (lol...late 70's). The knit stitching is very loose which could be a good thing if you're looking for something that doesn't look brand new.
Answered on 11/27/2010 12:00:00 AM by jer-z gurl from south jersey, nj
    • Answer This sweater is made with medium-guage wool yarn - very good quality material...BUT it is a very loose knit, almost like crochet. It is a stretchy and open stitch , NOT a tight dense knit. It is warm as a layer but not heavy enough to block a chilly wind.
