Reviewed by Jen from Portland, OR on Wednesday, November 14, 2012I ordered two sizes in different colors. One was an XL in light blue and the other was a Medium in brown as a gift. The XL was SMALLER than the Medium! It was shorter in length by an inch! They say the sizing can vary because they are hand made, but this is ridiculous. The Medium is more like Large, which I kept as a gift for a different person. I would not recommend this sweater due to the inconsistency with sizing.

I just didn't like how I looked in it, though the sweater is nicely made and is warm. The neck was very high - almost a turtleneck more than a crew to wear over a shirt. This sweater might be perfect for someone else.

It had a very strong and unpleasant "barn" smell, so I decided to wash it. The tag said hand wash in warm water. I decided NOT to use warm, but hand washed it in woolite in cold water. The sweater shrank to the point where it would fit a six-year old! The smell did indeed wash away. This tells me that the wool was never properly processed before this sweater was knit. Back it goes, sadly. The blue was lovely.
