Small/medium is a bit big, otherwise nice enough hat.

The large size fits my size 7 1/2 head great. One-size-fits-all hats are usually too small for me, so having multiple size choices is a great plus for me. Elastic back holds that hat on my head comfortably. This hat is less deep than other cadet-style hats, which is fine if you don't want the hat coming too low over your forehead. Construction quality is OK, but not great. Good for casual wear in sunny weather.

This is a hat in a style that you don't see very often - and when you do, it's usually on the head of an obnoxious ultra-individualist. But worn well, this hat can add a touch of interest to an otherwise everyday outfit.

The bill is just large enough to keep the sun out of your eyes when worn in the correct position, without being so large that it ends up looking like a baseball cap. The color is a nice dark brown, in a rough weave/finish, that leaves plenty of room to match with various shirts and pants - this hat could safely complement jeans, corduroys, chinos, flannel shirts, paintbrush shirts, suede shoes, boat shoes, and pretty much anything but the dressiest of clothes. The brand logo in a small metallic plate on the front of the cap is also a nice touch of detail.

The only bad thing about the hat is that it's construction is very soft; it doesn't retain its shape very well once on the head. If it were a bit stiffer in its structure, it would be a five-star item. As such, it loses a point. Mine also had very little pull in the elastic band at the back of the had, causing it to sit less snugly than it could. I'm not deducting a point for that, however, because there's no way to tell if that was a defect in the product's design or, as I suspect, simply a defect in this individual piece.
