I wore PF Flyers as a child and was really excited to see them available. I live in NYC where Converse rule, but I don't know why. Since they are no longer made in the states, they fall apart and are uncomfortable for me in the little toe area, the bone on the outside of the foot there. But, the PF Flyers are perfect. They are still constructed very well. I wear them every day and they have held up really well. I have four pairs I've had for a year and I rotate them and they're all still fine. I do use them for lots of standing on blacktop and hard floors, and spend lots of time walking mile distance, and do some sports in them. Funny thing, I have a very bad knee and hip that benefitted from MBTs for a couple of years, but then stopped working for me. My pain is greatly reduced using these. I was so suprised about that. I haven't even needed a new insole. New Balance, which owns PF Flyers now has not made PF Flyer insoles available as a replacement insole, but I know they are getting requests to do so.
As a woman who wears an 8 1/2 I order a 7 mens. The fit is really good. I am a b width and it is roomy in the mid foot, but the heels are perfect and don't slip. I just do the laces tightly and I'm good to go. I can use thin or thick socks because of the room. If you have a really narrow foot as a woman, these mey not work. Only tiny downside is the laces are really long for me as I lace the old fashioned way because they are long enough to lace in all the hip ways that take up more lace.

OK they are a canvas shoe.Grew up with these so that is why I wanted them.I bought arch supports to put in them and now they are comfortable sort of.Great to wear around and tell everyone that you have P.F. flyers on but not good for much else.I do get comments from the kids about how cool they look. Funny because growing up it's all that I had.

Had pf flyers as a kid, and glad to have them again. Really fun to show off and look cool and retro. Fit well but remember these are just a canvas shoe so if you think you are going to wear these for sports, think again.

My husband was looking forward to these great retro shoes. He was pleased by them until he put them on and found that the toe box is cut very low and as a result is very binding. Not something anyone wants in a pair of shoes. So despite their great look (and price!), these have to go back.
