Point 6 Public Safety Division Defender Socks -Merino Wool, Crew (For Men)

Love the socks. Being wool they are warm, medium weight but a small bit itchy. Not a bad itchy though.

I have several pairs of Point 6 socks and really like them, however this time I was looking for a lighter weight wool to wear casually. Despite the description, these socks are not light weight. Uncompressed, the sock is almost 3/4" thick. It's sort of surreal to 'complain' about something being too well made, but these are definitely at least a medium wt sock. The sock does not vary in thickness, it's the same over the top of the foot and up the leg portion (some lighter socks will have a thiner portion over your arch or on the shin).

These are great socks. They have a tight weave which I think will wear well. Only drawback for me was they are not really heavyweight but the material and tight weave make them very warm and comfortable.

I just ordered 3 more pairs since I love these socks so much. I use them for everyday winter wear for hiking, snow shoeing, ice skating, winter mtb or cyclocross, in Harley boots. They are warm and comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. The only thing not perfect about them is they tend to gather lint since they are black. But hey, who really cares? I usually wash them after 2-3 times of wearing, whether they need it or not. Never had them smell at all!
