Reviewed by JT from New England on Saturday, March 16, 2013I was using a pair o fthe Yaktrax I'd bought @ my local REI store, but they failed me and broke when I was up 5000 feet in Whit eMts of NH, in January. REI had assures me these were the best, and they would not fail. I was more than disapointed in the Yaktrax, as well as REI.
So, when i came across these Polar Ice Cleats, I was ready to try. They are very well built, and should endure just about anything---far superior to the REI-carried Yaktrax. Also, the Polar Cleats are priced below the Yaktrax---just amazing value. While I use them for Winter hiking, above treeline, they would work well anytime you wanted to safely walk across slippery, icy surfaces.
1 BIG thumbs up!!!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by fishcane from Michigan on Wednesday, February 27, 2013They work very well on ice, not as good on snow. My only negative about the product, they are hard to get on your boots.
Reviewed by Ready to Retire from Columbus, OH on Wednesday, January 23, 2013I bought two pair of these for a trip to Arizona and the Grand Canyon in January, one for myself and one for my wife. One of the rivets broke through the rubber on one pair. Neither my wife nor I felt very secure with lateral traction using these. I'm going back to Yak Trax.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by chopperman from WV on Monday, December 17, 2012Finally, a set of ice cleats worth owning. Bought one for everyone in the family. Others have noted this runs a little tight, I agree - order the next size up.
Reviewed by Old broad! from Door County, WI on Saturday, December 15, 2012These did not work well on ice for me. I did not feel at all secure. They are hard to put on, but will not fall off once on. I do not recommend them.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Fishcane from S.E. Michigan on Monday, December 10, 2012I have used these for several Winters, and they have done a great job of giving me the extra traction that I need in snow and ice.
Reviewed by Mike from PacNW on Wednesday, November 28, 2012Much better quality than YakTracs. Just be sure to get a size bigger as others have said.
