    Bottom Line:
    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    The fly rod is O.K. for a beginning angler. However, the reel is very cheaply manufactured, and broke immediately. Even theough the rod/reel combinaiton is priced very inexpensively, it is not worth it at any price due to the poor quality (unusable) reel.
