throws tons 8 wt. line. Have not tried a seven on it. Will be a good rod for throwing indicators for steelhead or streamers for trout. Pretty heavy for a 7 and also pretty stiff, but works fine.

Perhaps if u need alignment dots u shouldn't be fly fishing. We already have enough morons as it is. I thought rod guides aligned the rod pretty good. Golf? WI? Other potential sports with alignment dots. Sometimes I wish my girlfriend had alignment dots. Then maybe it wouldn't be as fun?

I'll be using this 7 wt. rod for large river trout in the Rockies and lake bass in New England. It appears to have the backbone to bring 'em in and release 'em quickly. The cork grip is built for a smallish hand, but I don't anticipate a problem with my medium-sized man's hand. All rod components and the build are excellent. The rod tube is well-made. The rod sock not so much. I purchased a cloth rod sock to absorb moisture when storing the rod.
