    This rod has enough strength to throw large weighted flies with a weight forward sinking tip line, yet is soft enough that I could use a double taper 5 weight line for dry flies. A great rod for all day fishing on a river. Wet flies in the middle of the day and dries morning and evening. Obviously there are better rods out there, but for the price you can't beat this one!

    I have Winston and Orvis rods. This rod is not an embarrassment next to those rods. Very nice finish. Is a fast rod, so more for larger flies-larger nymphs and streamers. A Powell rod for this price is unheard of.

    Better construction than a lot of rods in this category. Surprisingly lightweight for a #6 rod. The medium action of this rod helps offset some of the rigidity normally associated with this rod weight. For the price....an absolute steal! I just wish they had this rod in some shorter lengths available.

    I will use this rod mainly for stillwater fishing.the finish equal to my winston rod.the reel seat is terrible,none of my reels would not fit properly on it,i tried all 9 of my reels.Idid replace it with a nickel silver reel seat.
