The coverage on the ears will be nice. When you don't want the ears covered or you want a different look you can easily tuck them up inside (when doing this, the hat itself still covers my ears - I'm a petite female). The fabric is heavy and appears it will keep you warm.

I like them so much I have them in several colors! I could wish the front pockets were a little bigger; you can put really small things in there (if you don't mind potentially losing them), but I wouldn't put keys in unless they were on a clip attached to the belt loop! I just use the side pockets - ends up jingling a bit and they're not as convenient to get to, but the snap pocket closure means they're extra secure!

It fit but was very form fitting and a little short, probably too short for someone with a longer torso. I should have ordered a large since all of the shirts from Prana I have ordered have been a little small. I like the color and will keep it. It will be good to layer under t-shirts in the fall.
