Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These little guys are so cute! They have a nice weight to them, feel substantial and stand straight. No toppling bears here. The finish is distressed in places to look aged/retro and it is fairly convincing... like old iron figures. The cards they came with were rather shoddy - but that's pretty irrelevant to me - it's easy enough to make your own and you would have to eventually anyway. I think in addition to using at place settings, I may show them in pairs around the kitchen... like 2 over the sink with the words "Good" "Morning" Easy to use these guys creatively!
