I purchased this headlamp for my aging 87yo father to wear. He has macular degeneration. He is delighted with it, as it has higher lumen than other, less expensive lamps. Highly recommended for those with failing eyes, who still want to read, etc. do close up work.

Brightness of the light is great. The multiple light settings is nice.

I have a handful of different headlamps with this being one. This one has excellent brightness and seeing out a long ways is not a problem but it is less of a wide angle as many of the multi led models. A rough comparison of this model to a 55lumen multi version; The 55 is practically worthless past 20 meters. This EOS really shines at that distance and much further. The spread in close with the EOS is narrowed so if you wanted wide angle performance at 2-8 meters the other multi led models would probably be a better bet though the EOS is much brighter right in front of you.

The light is brighter than average light but the light housing seems a little bigger and heavier than normal. The sustained light feature is good.

These products are recommended. Very durable. There is no risk of lost battery cases. LED brightness is sufficient for hiking. If you looking for something cheap and good, it is the answer
