This is NOT a waterproof lamp. There is NO gasket on the battery hatch, you can see the batt connecters through the gap. Is this a great around-the-house, car-camping or fair weather hiking lamp? YES! And for the price probably one of the best. Would I use it on a backcountry hike or as a piece of emergency equipment? NO. Princetontec makes good stuff, almost all if not all of it in the USA. I have this lamp, the remix and the EOS (waterproof to 3' depth) of their current offerings. I have had the aurora and Yukon as well as some of their squeeze lights in the past (~12yrs now).

I ordered this headlamp for my husband because his previous headlamp broke. He really wanted a excellent, reliable headlamp since we are going to Peru in the summer. However, we didn't want to fork out alot of money. This headlamp is awesome with the different settings and easy adjustable lamp.

Question
“The description says the light can be adjusted so that it beams up or down but a review says it does not. I want to also use the light for reading so I need it to bean downwards to the book. Will it work for that without having to move my head?”

Answer
This head lamp works off of 3AAA batteries, it does not use lithium batteries.

Answer
I do not have one of these headlamps so I have not tested my thought - but if you can find AAA batteries that are lithium, they should work. It is the size that is important.

Question
“Will this headlamp handle 0 degree temps?”
Asked on 4/12/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
Answer
This headlamp does not have a temperature rating but it should work just fine. The cold will drain the batteries a little faster so make sure to carry extras.
