perfect for carrying around, not as bulky as a flashlight. Very powerful beam with 3 levels of intensity. Only problem with it is that it takes, 3 AAA batteries, which seems a bit much but they are included and last a long time.

Bought my first one for backpacking and snowshoeing. Best for reading and camp chores. Not bright enough for night travel. Liked the lightweight stable light so well I bought several more to leave in my fishing tackle box, and home repair toolbox. I leave one one my boat too. The battery opening durability seems suspect, but you don't need to open it very often.
