Love the lens covers, but find it impossible to store more than one spare, or different colour in the holder provided. Lens cover is great for night fisherman when fighting fish. keeping beam bright enough to locate line, but in green, or REd which does not seem to startle fish as much as a white light would.
Would love the feature of interchangeable coloured lens covers on a higher powered head torch for a little further penetration of the coloured light though. If Sierra convince Princeton to do this I will definitely purchase.

Let me preface my review by saying I use my head lamps a lot, either for hunting, fishing, backpacking or day to day work. I bought one of these headlamps, as I have owned multiple Princeton Tec headlamps and liked the quality of thier product in the past. That being said this particular headlamp came in the mail and did not work... so I called Princeton Tec (great customer service actually) and they immediately sent me a new one. I used it for about a year, starting the second week when I would move the headlamp up or down using its pivot feature, it would short out. To make a long story short, I was fortunate to lose it while hunting last year so that I was forced to buy a new headlamp, this time I went with the Black Diamond Storm... which has bee the best headlamp I have ever owned. No longer a fan of Princeton Tec.

I tested this out yesterday doing some night hiking/camping. I also brought my Princeton Tec EOS to test. The Quad has a whiter light and has a wider beam than the EOS. I like how firm the lamp rotates, it didn't feel flimsy at all. I think it's good for up to about 20 feet in front of me on high. The low setting seems like it would be good at the campsite, but it was too low to use for hiking on the trail. I noticed the EOS had a stronger output, although it was more yellow than white.
I didn't have an opportunity to use the different color lenses, but I'm sure they will be effective for their purposes. Overall, it's a good headlamp.
It's got red, blue and green lens covers. The light itself is white. But you have to open the hatch to insert the lens cover.

The lamp does not have multi-colored LEDs. Only white. The colored lenses must be changed out, but once installed can slide up for use, or slide down for using the white LED. It is handy if you need to use only one colored lens at a time.
