This will be used for backpacking/camping. The high beam setting is very nice and bright. My only complaint is to switch from low to high beam, you have to hold the button down and it switches over to the other setting. You can't switch back and forth from low to high easily since there's only one button. Instead, you hold the button for two or three seconds, then it turns off momentarily, then it switches to the other bulb/LED. I know this explanation is confusing but if you purchase this, you will understand what I'm trying to convey. Bottom line: nice head lamp, counterintuitive on/off low/high switch.

adjustable brightness and more lumens than the cheaper version.

I have an older Princeton Tec light and this Fuel model is much lighter and much brighter, even on the lowest setting, than the old one. I love the 3 brightness settings.
