  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect light hiker!

Bought these fall 2023 and I've put them through miles of mixed terrain from wet and slippery to dry and rocky and even braved muskeg bogs...and these shoes were perfect! So far they have held up just as well as any of my leather boots. I wear an 8.5M, bought a 9 to accomodate my orthotic and a midweight wool sock.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Light Hikers

I am really pleased with these. The construction is much more sneaker than boot-like, but I am into this style of boot for four-season light hiking and utility use. It will certainly not last forever, but in the meantime it is supportive and very, very light. The outsole is reasonably sticky and the shank stiff enough to be good on rock. They are legitimately waterproof. I like the single speed lace loop, it's a good balance of secure lacing and not too much to snag on. And I dig the orange! On the con side, the toe box is narrow, like every pair of Asolos I have owned. This fit works for me, generally, but I do find some toe constriction when kneeling or going down steep hills. Great value at the Sierra price.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. great walking shoes

This is my third pair of Asolo hikers, all made with the same style Vibram soles. Asolo's EU 39 1/3 or US 7.5 in Medium width fits me just right with cushioned socks, or double socks, making for a very comfortable ride. I usually wear 7.5M in athletic shoes; sometimes 7M in sandals or dress shoes. These are not cushiony, like gel or memory foam shoes. They are sturdier, and offer the stability my feet need for miles of comfortable walking, without the thick soles characteristic of most stability sneakers. I am pleased that the color looks better in real life than it does in the photos, where it looks almost brown. The color is actually a grayish taupe with green undertones, and grey accents. The box says, "sky grey." Nowhere on the box does it say "beluga," so I am not sure why the color is listed as beluga.
