    The stiching used in the waistband is actually painful (and I'm not a sensitive guy). I was unable to wear the swim shorts without tucking a shirt into the waistband (I do wear a UPF sun shirt simultaneously while swimming). Also, it's a bit loose as the elastic in the waist is a bit too generous. I'm a 32 waist but I'd say this is more like a 33-34 in the Medium size.

    I use the bathing suit around a friends pool and on the boat and it looks great but the waist was a bit large and the pull line couldn't pull it in enough. That said, its a nice bathing suit and dries quickly.
