I was looking specifically for a vest that would be really warm without being too bulky or too outdoorsy-looking. (Read: I love North Face products, but I love them in extreme weather - not necessarily in California winter streetwear situations.)
This vest is pretty fashion-forward and really warm with a super soft fabric, and it's not as puffy as some other vests. Sizing is true to size.
It doesn't have the features of a true outdoors brand (North Face) - no double-taped seams, no stow pocket, no zipper pockets. This is all right with me, as I didn't get this for a slope. But if you want a vest for snowboarding or some other sport, you're best off with North Face or Patagonia, etc - i.e. a brand that specifically designs for activity rather than fashion.
That being said, I love this vest, and the price was fantastic. It's not as warm as the North Face Nuptse vest, but of course that vest is a 700 fill.
Then again, putting a North Face fleece underneath the vest and you're nice and toasty.
Great vest!
